Distinguished Rotarian Award
John Gray was honored with the Distinguished Rotarian Award in 2010 because he is always there to help those who need help whether financially or with Club projects. A few years back, when the Club had just moved into its new office space, there was a series of attempted break-ins to the premises. The situation was mentioned to John and within a few days, the necessary security bars on doors and windows were being measured for and installed. And at no cost to the Club. This particular example is just one among many. John Gray sees a need and fills it.
David Wastchak “Spirit of Rotary” Award
Sue Hamman was the 2010 recipient of the Dave Wastchak “Spirit of Rotary Award. She has, during her membership, become one of the faces of the Club’s programs for youth. She founded the Interact Club at Metro Tech High School, she has embraced RYLA and teaches classes there on communication. She and her husband host young people in their home who are participating in Youth Exchange. She is involved in Youth Exchange at the District level. As young people are a high purpose of the Phoenix Rotary 100’s community efforts, it is particularly fitting that Sue received this award for her work with youth
Tim Creedon “Quiet Confidence” Award
Randy Long was the 2010 recipient of the Tim Creedon “Quiet Confidence” Award. His quiet demeanor, his gracious nature, his smile for everyone reminds one of Tim Creedon. Randy does what he says he is going to do and doesn’t require accolades. He exemplifies ‘quiet confidence’.
Spotlight Award
Our newest award is the monthly Spotlight Award. Brendan Kennedy is the first recipient for successfully leading the annual Phoenix Rotary 100 speech contest for serving as Blood Drive chair, for serving as Finance chair, for countless hours spent on Youth Exchange activities, and for being an outstanding all-around Rotarian
